Fabrics: Where to buy?

 In you are just beginning your sewing adventure you would probably like to know where you could buy nice fabrics and trimmings. And if you are already on the sewing scene you may want to expand on you fabrics or haberdashery store list. Here I'd like to share the shops that I have visited, my experiences of them and also stores I know of, which may be of use to you.

Sewing Project: Boiled Wool Coat

It’s positively starting to feel like Autumn in London and a nice and easy autumn jacket is a great item for your wardrobe. A boiled wool like this one could do the job, no lining or overlocking required, stitch your side seams, facings and sleeves and you’re good to go!

Sewing Project: Apron

Since I started volunteering for a bakery recently I picked up a habit of wearing an apron in the kitchen. So I decided it was time to make one!

Fabric idea: Blue cotton theme

A blue theme. This check woven cotton is so unique. I can only imagine a nice autumn shirt jacket I could make with it....


And a shift dress to go underneath from this one, wouldn’t that be heavenly?

Sewing Project: Curtains

Curtain project is as big as it gets for me, literally! I needed to make a lined curtain from my abstract design pastel John Lewis Cotton Linen from John Lewis and I was up for this project this summer!

Sewing project: Jersey drapy dress

I found this lovely printed jersey on http://www.stonefabrics.co.uk/ and idea was formed in my head to make an asymmetrical easy to wear summer dress.

Fabric Idea: Japanese inspired urban prints

Very inspiring prints from Stone Fabrics. Fabrics like this make my mind work fast thinking of all those different garments I should be making!
